The big boys and I are on Spring Break this week.  Finished the last of my homework this afternoon, so now it’s official for all of us!  Catching up with family in San Antonio this weekend and then who knows what the rest of the week will bring.  It’s REALLY great to be able to be off with the boys – something I’ve wanted since Aydyn started school.  So, this is just a quick update and I’ll share some pics as soon as I get them onto the computer to play with.  I hope everyone’s starting to get some spring weather, even if it’s just some sunshine for now!

I’m a warm weather girl and this winter has been pretty COLD, so I’m glad that it’s starting to feel like spring around here.  Still cold in the mornings but warming up nicely in the afternoons.  I’m still wearing long sleeves and jeans, though, since it’s just warmER, not warm enough.  Doesn’t take long for the chill to return in the evenings – especially when you’re a wimp like me.  The boys decided today was officially the beginning of shorts weather.  The birds have been around for a couple of weeks.  Windows open to hear yards being cut.  Definitely starting to feel like spring.

Three out of six of us are sick.  Unfortunately, two of those are me and my husband.    Hopefully this will pass quickly and we’ll be back to normal ASAP.

Big birthday weekend at our house.  Not that anything big is really happening, but it’s a big birthday number for Chris, my husband. The big 4-0!!  His plan to ride 40 miles tomorrow has been dampened (hahaha) by all the rain we’ve had yesterday and today.  He decided this year to celebrate by going for a 40 mile ride and adding another mile each year.  Good way to approach a birthday like this one, I think.  Celebrate all that makes you ‘you’!    Maybe on my birthday, I’ll do scrapbook pages instead.  I’ve still got a few years until I need to start planning something special to celebrate 40, though, so we’ll have to wait and see.  We got to start celebrating last weekend when everyone was together for Easter.  And so far this has been the yellow birthday – all the presents he’s received have had a yellow focus.  New running shoes – yellow soles; new yellow t-shirt; yellow cards in every envelope!  Very odd, but also very yellow.  So, for the big day tomorrow – yellow cake w/chocolate frosting at our house! 

This week/weekend, we’ll keep the focus yellow, but next week, it’s turning to GREEN again!  Earth Day’s coming & we’re definitely all about green at Little Monkeys!  More info to come…
