Little splash of yellow, happy bit of blue & our Thinking Green Sale
Our yellow birthday weekend was a success – happy papa, happy mama and happy kiddos.
Yesterday and today are blue days – blue as in clear, sunshiny sky and blue as in USPS shipping.
I will be updating status on orders that have recently shipped later tonight!
Now, though, I’m thinking green this week and I’m sure that even if you’re not paying any attention at all, you’re probably thinking green this week, too. Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22nd. It’s getting hard to miss – a real celebration these days. Kind of a cool thing to focus on the Earth and our environment, I think. Not something we need to do just one day a year, obviously, but nice to have a reminder to remember. Like Valentine’s Day – always good to share the love, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to have the sappy reminders, you know?
I’m all about the little gestures that make a difference. The big ones are important, but I want to show my kids that they can have start having an impact right here. Last year on Earth Day, my oldest son’s class planted a tree by their school. We watered it all through the summer – a living reminder to take a little extra care of things. The elementary school where the big boys go has a huge plastic recycling drive each spring and 2x in the last 3 yrs they have collected enough plastic that every single kid in school was rewarded with a fleece jacket made from recycled plastic – how cool is that! They’re all very cute (& proud!) coming out of school wearing their new jackets.
Thankfully, the city of Waco also collects recycled materials along with the regular trash collection. It’s amazing to know the difference in what’s being thrown away vs recycled just from our one house of many on the street! I love seeing all the recycling containers out by the curb each Friday.
Here at Little Monkeys, we made the effort to ‘think green’ in terms of our products from the beginning with recycled materials being used from the boxes to the inserts. It’s all the little things that add up, so we’re making sure to do our part!
And on the whole green note, there’s not much more green than Little Monkeys in general, is there? hehe I knew I liked green, just didn’t know how much until I started working out our initial box color. Since this year Earth Day’s really become a celebration, let’s celebrate with the Thinking Green Sale in the Little Monkeys shop! 30% off your total order now through Friday, 4/23, using the code THINK. If you miss the beginning of the sale while you’re out planting a tree, don’t worry! Receive 20% off your total order through Tuesday, 4/27, using the code GREEN.
LOL Thinking Green has me ‘Thinking Bee, Thinking Bee’ a la Bee Movie!
Be sure to check all around the shop, too – Little Monkeys shop. We’re starting to carry some additional products and have already added the thin, black EZMount sheets and acrylic stamping blocks.
Thinking green, thinking green, thinking green! What are you doing to think green? Post a comment and I’ll draw a winner for a fun green surprise on Sunday night!

I started my paper arts habit by BEING Green! I throw nothing away! Everything gets used and I look at all things small enough to be glued to a card with green eyes!

I use reusable bags for shopping. Been doing that for a long time. 15 plus years in fact. My first set of bags are still in use today and were purchased back in the early 90′s! Quite frankly i am even surprised they have lasted this long.
I just placed an order and got some of the Tropical colors. Love them! All these color hints makes me excited to see the newest release.

Since I don’t like to throw stuff away and I like to find new uses for it…I guess I’m a recycler. Although I’ve done it for a long time, long before it was the “green” thing to do! I’m now using non-disposable bags for my shopping. It really just makes sense!
Thanks for sharing!

I try to recycle everything I possible can and try not to be wasteful. I just purchased more of the stamp storage kits…I LOVE them. I highly recommend this system for storing your unmounted stamps.
